Once in a while, we see celebrities doing the token act of supporting (random?) social causes. However, one young celebrity who recently (ever since she got settled down with a kid and set up a children's foundation with her partner among other things) seems to be on a much-welcomed ongoing roll, is Ms Nicole Richie.

On Wednesday, she posted a video on her website talking about the terrible situation going on in Congo.

You have GOT to take time to watch it to find out more:

It's news like this which reminds me of a social-mesaged-laden song a while back, where a group of popular American singers once came together to record (addressing the AIDS situation in Africa and urging social action, while the 9/11 incident happened). It is entitled, What's Going On (lyrics):

How else can celebrities get themselves more involved with worthwhile causes?

After the past year's shenanigans with her former female partner (in-crime) DJ Samantha Ronson, media-loving Lindsay is determined to announce to the world that she is ready to move on. Or is she? Could this just be a too easy, impulsive 'revenge on my gf after a very bad public breakup' thing?

Now the Internet is all abuzz about this video Lohan recently filmed- about a single-person ad-  for funny videos website, funnyordie.com. In it, she gives a long-running commentary about her warts-and-all qualities.

The average person on the interweb is giving this video a thumbs-up and predicting it will be good publicity for Lohan to get back on her career track. Honestly, I think she looks skinny, beat, washed-out and her face looks like it's aging too fast. BUT, it's really good to see her doing comedy again.

What are surefire ways for a fallen star to win back the public's favour again?

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is getting the axe after just two seasons, EW reports.

“It’s done,” a source reveals. “Everyone has pretty much known for a couple of weeks.” Adds a network insider: “Consider it canceled.”

“No decision has been made yet,” insists a network rep. “We will be announcing our fall schedule on May 18.”

This past Friday, Terminator pulled in 3.6 million viewers during its season (and possible series) finale.

What are the reasons for quality dramedy shows being canned in recent years? Look at Veronicas Mars, The OC, Joan of Arcadia...it seems America prefer a good dose of comedy (turn to Friends, Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives) or, reality programs.

The media folks are just so predictibly commercial and formulaic, don't you think? (turn to the music industry, and you know what I mean)

When should a drama series be hitting the roads?

Looking at this Johnny Depp photo today (where he waves ever-graciously to his fans from inside a classic car while continuing to film his new project entitled The Rum Diary on Monday in Puerto Rico) and then coming across a Nicole-Joel news made me put two-and-two together, pardon the pun.

While in the studio recording Good Charlotte's upcoming album tentatively titled Bio Cardiology, lead singer Joel Madden uses Twitter as an outlet, often leaving messages for his second-time pregnant girlfriend and fashionista, Ms Nicole Richie.

Last Thursday night, Madden posted a link to his TwitPic account that said, "This is why I love her folks."

Whatever his various reasons for loving Richie, Madden did not explicitly list them. We just know they're very much in love, thank you very much. Just as we know Johnny Depp is equally blissful with his long-time girlfriend and mother to his two children, Vanessa Paradis (maybe Richie should find her new BFF in Paradis, no? ;) ).

Check out the latest photo of Richie (and her expanding baby bump) taken when the 24-year-old stopped in the Buzz Media offices in Los Angeles last Friday afternoon.

Which got me thinking for today's QOD (Question of the Day):

What's the deal with couples having a couple or more children together and not ever getting married, or even engaged?

Post up your thoughts in the comment section!

Here're a couple of pictures to show celebs like Gwen Stefani and Jennifer Garner donning their DND shades while enjoying Easter with their family.

Not adding the fact that other celebs like singers Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Lisa from The Veronicas and Tristan Prettyman (painting surfboards with her dad, no less!) were all a-twittering about their time spent with the fam or friends.

Share with us your memories of Easter as a kid or at present! :D

She is the covergirl of the May issue of Self magazine. In it, looking all assuredly grown-up, the 20-year-old former High School Musical sweetheart mentions that she recently purchased her own home.

Here's a comment inside worth noting:

“I keep a Taser in my purse for self-defense,” Vanessa said. “I’m moving into a house by myself, and it’s scary.”

Which brings up the Question(s) of the Day (QOD),

1)  Should all women have some sort of plan/tool for self-defence?
2)  Why is it and when is a good time for a young adult to move out of his/her parent's home?
